This is David in the midst of timing our trusty pump. for our experiment we went through the process 3 times and averaged the times out to get the table below, we did notice for the most part that when the height changed the time changed accordingly but there were some cases where it didn't quite fit what we had predicted, some times it would go faster. We used a pump designed for transporting wine but it was cleaned prior to this experiment and would not intoxicate the fish.

So as someone who is not exactly gifted with computer skills I've spent lots of time turning to my friends and class mates for how to do something. This post is basically how to make friends and improve your collaboration skills by not knowing how to do things, and in the end you will have learned a lot about what you had to ask about, that's very important too. 1. The very first thing you need to know is that you will get no where if you don't ask for questions and ask for help, you might feel stupid at first having to be maybe the only one who didn't know something but trust me if you wait longer then have to ask later in the year or get a lower grade because you didn't know it will be so much worse. 2. the second thing you want to do is have one person you can turn to when you don't know something simple, which some people might make fun of you for, I had to turn to Chloe here on the left for many things. 3. Get to know the person next to you, they will be there always, and will connect you with "masters" of the classroom who know how to do things you couldn't even dream of. this is Josie, on the right here, who I couldn't count how many times had to remind me what the undo key board command is (its control Z by the way I did learn it). Also as you can see below you might need a group of people to help you solve a problem, this is an amazing opportunity because now you can all share tidbits of information you have because you might know something they don't but they might know something you don't. as well as that it strengthens your ties with the people you're going to be working all year with. With this project, flying words, we did most our work in Adobe After Effects, which has many elements and is a complicated program for a fellow non computer pal but even if you're not working with a professional program, ask questions, learn as much as you can in the beginning. Thank you for reading! I hope I helped some of you out with social skills in a computer class, never be afraid to ask! For our test we just tested the pump at different grades to predict the affect it would have on the fash, for our demonstration we will be moving a fish through a tube from one tank to another. In our test we hypothesized that the steeper the grade the slower the pump would move the water, as the results show from my last blog post, we ran it on the slowest setting every time and it did slow it down when we adjusted the end point but not as much as we had thought. This diagram is what we will do for our demonstration, the pump pushing through the second tube with each end submerged it will create a vacuum which will pull the fish up from its original tank to the end. I personally have learned a lot about how our home town and surrounding areas environment and how we interact with and affect the other living things near us with our decisions and consumption. The name of our project did get people interested, and overall Napa is doing a lot to recover space and resources for its environment but its a few strong organizations doing most of the work and not a large part of the individuals in our community that take time out of their days to contribute.
